Critics Consensus

A brawny, entertaining spectacle, but lacking emotional resonance.

Brad is worth the ticket price alone and others turned in creditable performances, particularly Eric Bana as an upright family man who just happens to be the prince of a warlike city-state, and Sean Bean as Odysseus the Ironic. Go to Full Review

Hagrid M Jan 17, 2019 One of my favorite movies of antiquity. So many quotable lines.
Draco S Jan 13, 2019 This movie will always be compared to Gladiator, which is a nostalgia boner for so many. Troy is just as good as Gladiator and is a great telling of the Illiad, if yiu wanted to make the story work for a modern audience. For me, Eric Bana stands out as Hector. Despite knowing the story off by heart, i was still wanting him to win his final battle. Legolas is in this too but while he does a good job, he simply lacks the presence to leave an imprint See more
