Critics Consensus

Mickey 17 finds Bong Joon Ho returning to his forte of daffy sci-fi with a withering social critique at its core, proving along the way that you can never have too many Robert Pattisons.

Bong Joon Ho’s playful adaptation of Edward Ashton's novel is delightfully odd and overtly political.

Bong Joon-ho’s sci-fi epic has some excellent satire and impressive visuals. However, Mickey 17 ultimately takes on two separate, ambitious stories that don’t have the space to truly flourish.

The blustery Mickey 17 can’t get its many tonal elements to gel. It’s shrill and often aggressively wacky, laying on feeble eat-the-rich bits that feel like Saturday Night Live sketches.
