Ellen Gray Philadelphia Inquirer Aug 10, 2020
After spending more than two increasingly dispiriting hours with Pacino's raspy eccentric, I still didn't know a lot more about Kevorkian than I had going in. Go to Full Review
Eric Deggans Tampa Bay Times Aug 10, 2020
Even as stars Al Pacino, Susan Sarandon and Brenda Vaccaro dim their wattage with clumsy Michigan accents, bad wigs and dowdy clothes, a compelling story about Kevorkian's advocacy for euthanasia emerges. Go to Full Review
Matthew Gilbert Boston Globe Aug 10, 2020
There are many, many haunting scenes in HBO's docudrama You Don't Know Jack. Go to Full Review

By the end of the film, viewers still may not be sure what makes Jack tick. But you'll have a better sense of Al, one of the premier actors of our time. Go to Full Review
Scott D. Pierce Deseret News (Salt Lake City) Aug 10, 2020
A biography of "Dr. Death" may seem like an odd choice for a TV movie, but this is a very good, thought-provoking film. And Pacino and the rest of the cast are great. Go to Full Review
Tom Gliatto People Magazine Aug 10, 2020
A vein of messianic righteousness can be detected below the surface, but mostly this Kevorkian is delightful-which doesn't seem quite right. It's an ingenious performance, though. Go to Full Review

Harry S Mar 23, 2019 This is one of those films that reveals a sense of reality that we may have not been aware of till it was cinematically unveiled to us, and the very subject matter that made a portfolio worth telling stirred up a morally complicated stance through a strongly-performed, silently-heavy argument. Han M Jan 7, 2019 I went for Al Pacino, Goodman, Sarandon and I've stayed because I wanted to know about the story. I had heard of it, but I did not know much about it. Not that there is much to know to be honest, but the film tries not to be too bias and lets you have your own opinion and, most importantly, brings back light to a problem not yet resolved. See more
Anakin S Oct 22, 2017 A controversial really needs the viewer knowing which side he is on.
Abraham R Dec 23, 2010 When you have a biographical movie, you have always to look from the other side of the story. In the movies, however, it is difficult to do that. Anyway, either if you believe the version of Dr. Kevorkian (as the film does) or not, it puts on the table a necessary doubt -euthanasy- which needs to be discussed to help to the patients which suffer. Harry W Jun 19, 2010 Levinson has a deft touch with ordinary people and places, and the film's early scenes, especially, take care of business in a satisfying, sideways fashion, developing character with exposition and finding every avenue for real-world humor. See more
