If it isn't exactly a happy ending, it's at least an acknowledgment that her character will develop long after the credits roll. Sometimes that's the best we can hope for. Go to Full Review

Finn M Nov 30, 2018 XXY is unfortunately overly sensationalist in a couple of graphic, unsubtle sequences, but overall it's an important movie about the rarely portrayed subject of intersex people which features a powerful, wonderful ending, terrific dialogue and a very strong performance from Ines Efron who was also so well cast with her interesting androgynous look. It features a highly important message about excessive obsession about gender in our society and the extreme importance of strong, appropriate parenting. See more
Han W Aug 29, 2017 Captivating and heartwarming story that pits courage and acceptance against judgement and ignorance.
