Wrong Turn is a missed opportunity to rethink some genuinely deep subject matter, and all the more disappointing for it.

If they'd tightened these ideas up just a tad, mainly by sharpening the viewpoint, then this movie might be a new modern classic. As it is, though, it's mainly a sometimes exciting detour.

This remake of the 2003 horror/slasher movie (and the seventh entry in the franchise), is filled with annoying characters and dumb situations and can't make a reasonable case for its own existence.

Efficient and enjoyable. A couple of horrifying and haunting moments. The whole thing doesn't make any sense at all, and it scores zero points for originality, but it has a really haunting final shot and it does exactly what it set it to do.
