This is an amusing premise, but it is not enough. In order to effectively satirize something, you must first transcend it. Go to Full Review

The role reversal proves to be an irresistible hook for a comedy, and, for the most part, Without a Clue delivers on this idea. Go to Full Review

Without a Clue has no remote clue where to find its grace, everything ends up being a lamentable waste of talent. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Han R Aug 18, 2018 An often funny slapstick, with sometimes very sharp delivery by Caine. A few jokes fizzle, and near the end there's a couple that are just inappropriate, but as a whole it's cleverer than you expect. See more
Hermione S May 27, 2017 I loved the concept behind this and Michael Caine was brilliant in the role, however the jokes didn't always hit as hard as I wanted them to. Still, seeing as how I have never been a big fan of the Sherlock Holmes character, this movie made him fun to watch. This is a decent soft spoof of a classic character. See more
Hermione R May 15, 2017 Funny and clever movie. Well acted by Caine.
Poe P Mar 4, 2017 Dr. Watson (Ben Kingsley) is a brilliant surgeon who fears that his fondness for solving mysterious murders will tarnish the dignity of his practice, so he hires a loutish actor (Michael Caine) to pose as an ingenious detective named Sherlock Holmes. Unfortunately, the pair's latest whodunnit threatens to both cripple London and end their lives just as their tenuous partnership is frayed to the breaking point. Without a Clue boasts an intriguing premise, witty dialogue, and amusing performances from both Caine and Kingsley (there is, however, a transphobic gag in the climax that hasn't aged terribly well). Taken as a whole, Without a Clue is funny little spoof that very well could be the most underrated of the many, many Sherlock Holmes movies. See more
Poe R Jan 27, 2017 I was expecting something dumb but it was not. Pleasantly surprised that the film had many clues we could understand and play along. Of course it was a bit like Batman, but not all that impossible to guess. Many ironic jokes that were the most obvious at the beginning and then got smarter as we went along. Rather light and funny. Well put together. Scenes with shooting and fire were looking very realistic. Bravo, old chaps! See more
