All in all, you could definitely do worse in picking a movie for the "tween" set (hear that, Mary Kate and Ashley?). Go to Full Review

Harmless enough, but so condescendingly saccharine, you might gag on it. Go to Full Review

Albus R Feb 16, 2019 Another Freaky Friday switch places movie. What works: It is interesting to see where Heigl comes from... the first time I can recall seeing her was in Knocked Up, and she is a decent teen actress as well as a cutie. The younger sister does a decent job too... Neither of them are going to win an Oscar, but they are both competent. I also like that this is a film about women and their troubles, but not in a reverse-sexism stick a woman in a male role annoying sort of way. What doesn't: It is pretty cheesy. The parents are horrible, and not in a particularly funny way. Alot of the running gags fall flat, like the door constantly being marked up. Also, the thing that make switch movies funny is juxaposing wildy different personalities, like mom and daughter, or Jeff Spicoli and Hitler or something. Here are two teenage girls that like the same boy, are in the same class, etc. It is hard to come up with as many visceral laughs that way. See more
