In theory, Burton et al believe they are more or less on the side of the angels; it all ends in chaos, but our heroes finally get their revenge, though the rather casual cynicism dates this film very considerably.

The Wild Geese is solid entertainment. I think it could have been shot differently and benefited from wider shots (more like a David Lein Bridge on RIver Kwai in 70mm).

The Wild Geese (1984) ? / ???? Truly terrible action-adventure with veteran actors Richard Burton, Richard Harris, (even Roger Moore!) playing ageing (and it shows!) mercenaries, clash heads with African dictator, rescue African President. In an almost goofy narrative, this invites a few raised eyebrows, but even curiosity of it all can't compensate film's godawful length.
