Zane is excellent, but it’s just a shame that the movie tells one of the least interesting possible stories about his life.

Billy Zane’s bravura performance as Brando deserved better; it deserved a top-notch vehicle—probably a drama.

Zane is completely locked in as Brando, and I think what he captures is how much Brando didn’t seem to revere his own position as an actor.

The re-creations here are virtually indistinguishable from the real footage. Fishman's production could honestly be confused for documentary footage... whatever the makeup and hair department did only made things that much more flawless.

This offbeat film—which is well-intentioned but tonally confusing—is still worth watching for Zane's performance as Brando.

Waltzing with Brando is never going to be mistaken as the quality of the films we associate with the height of Marlon Brando’s career, but it is a far cry from the low points in his filmography.

An indulgent and uneven tale of paradise, ambition, and friendship, the film is just quirky enough to work. Billy Zane is the standout here, as he fully embodies Brando in a dead ringer of a performance.

An award-worthy best performance of Billy Zane’s career. Jon Heder steps outside the box and ups his game. A wonderful adaptation by Bill Fishman. Superb production values all around. A love letter to the "real" Marlon Brando.
