Working in small, skillfully nuanced, always surprising increments, Kari, enabled by Gunnar Jonsson's extraordinary performance, charts a moving, totally believable flowering of untapped potential as Fusi falls in love. Go to Full Review

I find his tragicomic portrait of loneliness, maturity and the lack of affection of a tormented soul particularly sober. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

A great performance from Jónsson, but the fundamentals of the story and its slow pace stubbornly restrict Virgin Mountain to mediocrity. Go to Full Review

Leia R May 25, 2018 A guy in in his mid-forties is still living with his mom. He is a virgin, overweight and is bullied at work. He's hobbies are pretty geeky and he have few friends. People is thinking he's a freak and a weirdo and few knows that he has a heart of gold. He get's involved in a lady and this change his life a lot. There are plenty of feelings here, some positive, some negative. A great film with a feelgood-vibe that shines through all the bleak low-life actions. I like the story a whole lot and the actors do deliver. The directing is great and the development is supersmooth. It's not easy to predict and this little gem is another example of great Icelandic moviemaking. Genuine and unfiltered, intimate and powerful, yet very subtle. 8.5 out of 10 remote cars. See more
Kylo M Jan 22, 2018 A film about the loneliness of a 43 year old man who goes through various bad situations that are very related to most of our experience in this cruel and monotonous world. Intimate and soulful. Beautiful masterpiece ! See more
Hagrid G Jan 28, 2017 Simple, Funny, Touching and with a masterful performance by G unnar Jónsson.
