V/H/S/99 harkens back to the final punk rock analog days of VHS, while taking one giant leap forward into the hellish new millennium. In V/H/S/99, a thirsty teenager's home video leads to a series of horrifying revelations.

Critics Consensus

Like most anthologies, V/H/S/99 has its ups and downs -- but more often than not, this collection of shorts continues the franchise's recent creative rebound.

Each segment runs too long; and none of them has the kind of killer ending an anthology film deserves. But they do all deliver what they promise: a 1999 look and vibe, with moments designed to make audiences squirm.

The two segments in the middle of V/H/S 99 completely drag the movie down from really good to bad. Ozzy's Dungeon and The Gawkers segments have no elements of horror in them. They feel like a poorly executed attempt at comedy that's not funny at all.
