Molly Brown is lively and fun, an exercise in those homely sentiments we learned as children, thrived upon, and, sometimes to our regret, outgrew. Go to Full Review

Debbie Reynolds received her only Oscar nomination for playing the title role of this artistically mediocre but commercially popular musical comedy about the rags to riches of the Denver heroine who was also a passenger on the Titanic. Go to Full Review

Albus R Oct 6, 2018 Lively MGM musical based on a true story with an energetic, Oscar-nominated performance from Debbie Reynolds; Harve Presnell made his film debut and sings Meredith Willson's score beautifully. See more
Hermione W Jan 26, 2018 Corny. But nice ruckus-frolic numbers.
Anakin S Jan 29, 2017 A very disappointing musical from the composer and lyricist of The Music Man. The music is mediocre, surprising coming from Willson. Debbie Reynolds overacts and underacts her way through what is a pretty corny Hollywood movie. If you want to see Debbie in a great Hollywood musical, watch Singin' in the Rain, a much better example of her acting and dancing talents which were great. So I blame the stilted, high-school level acting on the director, Charles Waters, who was opposed to Reynolds in the first place. Frankly, this movie is kind of a second-rate copy of Annie Get Your Gun. It is hard to believe it was made in 1964, and not 1944 or 1954. It is that corny and badly acted. See more
Ron P Jun 15, 2011 This may be my Favorite Debbie Reynolds Movie. She Certainly Acted the Heck out of it as the Loud, Overbearing, Strong,Socially Unsophisticated, but Lovable Molly Brown who comes into Oil Money Overnight. They Climb the Social Ladder by Shoving those on the Ladder Rungs aside while she steps on by them with a Friendly Howdy. All her Outlandish History is Great Fun, but what makes her a Heroine of History is that she is one of the True Life Survivors of the Titanic & her Spirit & Courage that gave her the Nckname , is the driving force behind her saving many other people from drowning on that Fated Day.This is a Story of Spirit, Courage, & Kindness that everyone should Delight In.
