It's a clever film. And for all Soderbergh's reservations about Hollywood, it's also confirmation of his mastery of its assorted genres, although he does suffer from an urge to see if he can juggle them all at the same time. Go to Full Review

Yes, Unsane is rather silly - but thriller lovers can have fun with it. Go to Full Review

Like too many of his looser films, Unsane could have profited from a bit more polishing. The film about the false imprisonment is terrific. The other film is really not very good at all. That will have to do for now. That will have to do for now. Go to Full Review

And yet, even as I can accept Unsane more easily as schlock, it still so far from perfect that it's actually quite frustrating... Go to Full Review

Soderberg's manipulation of his audience is masterful, and his formal choices have a throwback appeal, curiously enough, leaving Unsane to feel like a late-night VHS screening of a cheap but memorable horror show. Go to Full Review

Luke R Apr 25, 2019 the fact that the movie was entirely filmed in an iphone inspires me.
Poe W Apr 21, 2019 Totally predictable DO NOT WATCH. A massive waste of time
Hagrid G Apr 4, 2019 Great perspective taking with using a phone to record the movie. A few typical stalker tropes but overall very well done.
Mar 10, 2019 Low budget bland storyline
Abraham L Mar 9, 2019 You really you don't need to have a certain mindset to enjoy this film. I really don't like that every eon seems fixated on the whole shot with an iphone idea. The premise is great, and is done in a unpredictable (if sometimes slightly absurd) way. The movie is flawed without a doubt and is not a masterpiece but still an interesting insight of two obsessive characters trying to both hunt and outsmart each other. Slight spoilers past this point. Also, here is a few critiques of some bad reviews I've seen. By bad review I mean that the reviews themselves were stupid and didn't really have good reasons to justify their critiques. Some people are saying the actors are bad. This is simply not true. The actors are able to convey emotion or in some cases pure insanity quite well. However the acting was simple. Meaning that the actors played their characters as they what they were presented as on screen making the emotions and opinions quite obvious. The actors however, played "simple" very well. The protagonist is unlikable at times or just plain unlikeable. It's very easy for one to see that this is purposeful. I will recall a anime (of all things) called death note. In it the protagonist was very unlikeable and evil. Yes you heard me, the protagonist was evil. A protagonist is not someone who the audience should always sympathize with. In fact it can be the opposite. A protagonist is the main focus of a story. Sawyer is supposed to be unlikable at points to showcase all the aspects of her character. Camera angles and cinematography. This part is a lot more opinionated than the last ones but I think I can make my case. If you don't like the camera angles well I can't really say that they have a symbolic meaning or are important but they do give the movie an interesting feeling that being good or bad is up to you. The shots looking bad and the color spectrum on them may give the movie a cheap look and feel but this sort of benefits it. To me it gives it a feeling of almost being a 90's or late 80's thriller when this type of movie would be very popular. This does admittedly make the movie feel a bit uneven being a modern film but does not ruin the movie even if you dislike this aspect. Boring. I can see why people would say this and the movie is slow but that doesn't mean it is "boring." I feel like when they say boring that really mean a lack off action of suspense at at parts. However when nothing thriller wise is going on, the story progresses steadily. But if you really find it boring then why did people not find the original Halloween boring? That film didn't really didn't get started until around the one hour mark. It's because the story progressed in that time and like this movie had parts that were more exciting than others. I'm not saying this movie is comparable to this but it uses similar tactics I think that's enough for now. But remember, it's okay to like or dislike something, just have legitimate reasons to do so.
