Its parallel stories of two lost souls seeking each other across geographical divides is never more than one small step away from mawkishness and clich, and oftentimes less. But as a sociological study, it's fascinating. Go to Full Review

It's a bit of a guilty pleasure, with its formulas and its sap, but if it can get Lou Dobbs reaching for that Kleenex, it will have done its job. Go to Full Review

The performances -- and the movie's sideways glance at the culture of illegal immigrants, including a funny song about Superman ('He has no social security and no green card') -- give the movie its nicely controlled vitality. Go to Full Review

Unfortunately, many of the poignant moments are overwhelmed by a routine and formulaic narrative. Go to Full Review

Luke L Apr 10, 2019 Although La Misma Luna is no masterpiece, it does what it wants to do well. Showcasing the limits of human compassion and desire while also bringing into light some societal issues in the process. With strong leads and a heartfelt ending, La Misma Luna is sure to bring you to tears. See more
Kylo R Dec 16, 2018 One of my favorite films ever. Very sweet, but it portrays the deal dilemma many immigrant families face. Love it.
Han M Oct 3, 2018 The movie has so much meaning behind immigration. The struggles some parents have to make to provide their children with a better life. The struggle takes to cross the border. The more than horrible people that take advantage of those that crossover and the change in characters. I enjoyed Enrique and his change in character from the begging till the end. It was like seeing a guardian angle earing his wing. Erique was not the main character but he was the one that made the biggest change of character. Over all the movie was complex I recomend you watch it twice maybe even 3 times to understand its complexity. See more
Abraham S May 17, 2018 Heartwarming story of a boy crossing the border to look for his mother, with an amazing performance by young Alonso.
Rey S Mar 22, 2018 bad ending, no plot resolution, where is enrique, reeee, SUCKED DONKEY CHODE
Kylo M Dec 11, 2017 The start of the movie was okay but as it kept going it only got worse. A very annoying and aggravating movie as they got to the border, or as he went to the car lot and when they walked by her when she was sitting on the bench. To me the most annoying part was as he stared back at Enrique when he was getting arrested. The ending was horrible. Worst Spanish class movie ever... and there is only one moon so the title is unnecessary See more
