Critics Consensus

Under the Cherry Moon may satisfy the most rabid Prince fans, but everyone else will be better served with this vanity project's far superior soundtrack.

It is fast and featherweight, and the diminutive Prince is funny, cheekily charming and pretty as a picture. Go to Full Review

Poe W May 26, 2017 It's only watchable because it's a Prince film...and he is fabulous in it.
George S Apr 22, 2017 Despite its notoriety for having tied with Howard the Duck for Worst Picture, Prince's directorial debut showcases the performer's comedic talents as well as the chemistry between him and his co-stars into a reasonably entertaining albeit generally cliched romantic dramedy.
