Downbeat superhero story has less character, more violence. Go to Full Review

If this story doesn't widen its ideas, it's going to get much worse... Go to Full Review

Hermione L Dec 18, 2017 Just more of the same from the first one. It's cool for introducing Black Panther, but it doesn't do much more. There's more action sequences at least... See more
George L Oct 11, 2017 Not as good as the first and apart from the ending which was pretty good the rest was very bland and it seemed to drag on so much even my kids were bored, The story was boring and predictable the only thing that stands out is the action but even that wasn't enough to save it from being very poor. Hagrid W Apr 10, 2015 As average as its predecessor, the 2nd installment offers a lot of action & a minimum amount of storytelling.
Han W Jun 16, 2010 In some ways I found the first film in the Ultimate Avengers series to be rushed and not very loyal to the source material (Ultimates #1-#5), the characters didn't fit their ultimate comic counterparts and felt more like their Mainstream comic counterparts instead... In The Ultimates (Ultimate Comics series), 'Giant Man' A.K.A 'Ant Man', is an abusive drunk who's cruel to his loving wife 'Wasp', unfortunately this drama isn't seen or so much as referenced in the first movie. The same goes for 'Thor's' mythology, and 'Captain America's' sense of self loathing. 'Iron Mans' flamboyant playboy life style is shown but not in depth, and when all is said and done, The Hulk is the only character who's true to his-self, and I'll admit I really did enjoy the climactic fight at the end of the film. But enough of the first film... In Ultimate Avengers 2, we're introduced to Ta-chala A.K.A The Black Panther, a lesser know Marvel character who in my opinion deserved to be in the first film allot more then Ant Man, from the start of the film we see The Black Panther thrust into a difficult life of leading the people of his hidden city of Wakanda, whilst protecting the city's inhabitants from invading alien forces, with revenge for his fathers murder being his driving force. Its unfortunate that with the many different Avengers and Black Panther villains that they decided to use the alien villains from the first film, now this isn't necessarily a bad thing, its just a shame that they took what was essentially the end villain fight in the first film and blew it up on a grand scale which aside from the obvious War of the Worlds parody was pretty much the same thing. This time, all the main characters were brought closer to there Ultimate selves, while Ant Man never struck his wife or sent a group of ravenous ants after her, he still showed more anger then last time which I welcomed with open arms, Captain America delved deeper into his war torn past, and Thor's connection with his father Odin. Whilst Ultimate Avengers 2 isn't the greatest superhero team-up movie, I'll say its a marked improvement over its predecessor and allot more enjoyable then its sequal. 3/5 The Avengers may have felt used in the film, but the addition of The Black Panther made it all worth while.
