Critics Consensus

While not as dramatically strong as it is technologically, TRON is a visually stunning piece of science fiction that represents a landmark work in the history of computer animation.

To say that Tron envisions technology as it has never been seen before is an understatement. No movie more deserves the praise, state of the art. Go to Full Review

To put it bluntly -- and entirely outside the familiar realm of movie entertainment -- this is Something Else. Go to Full Review

Some of the effects are worth a fanfare and there is even a cracker-barrel bit of moralising... But the fun is at kiddy-level. Go to Full Review

Poe L Apr 28, 2019 For the time it came out it was interesting and something different tho the script could a little more but overall good, sad to say the sequel fell off from where it left off and failed to follow through the original squeal game story/story. See more
Apr 28, 2019 The best sci-fi movie ever made!
Luke G Mar 9, 2019 A groundbreaking classic.
Jan 21, 2019 This movie was so awesome for its time. It is now a cult-classic. My kids enjoy the story but are not impressed by the effects, but the effects were so far ahead of its time that this movie was disqualified from the Oscars because it used computers. Today all movies use computer special effects. I remember wanting to go to the digital world so much when I was a kid. This movie is underrated because it truly began days of computer special effects in cinema. See more
Ron M Jan 2, 2019 Way ahead of its time
Kylo G Dec 23, 2018 To me, this film will never be anything other than brilliant.
