The budget for fake blood for this Tokyo-based festival of slicing, shooting and chomping probably comes in about even with Titanic's budget for seawater. Go to Full Review

Quite possibly the goriest, craziest, most eye-blowing, chunk-spewing, head-exploding sci-fi movie of all time. Go to Full Review

Propelled by geysers of blood and tidal waves of neuroses, Tokyo Gore Police plumbs wounds both cultural and physical to deliver splatterific social satire. Go to Full Review

Harry M Aug 29, 2008 If you've seen The Machine Girl then you'll know what to expect, some extreme mist of that red stream we identify none-other-then blood and gore and plenty of it for your viewing pleasure. Yoshihiro Nishimura had only directed one film credited to him (Speakerman: The Boo) before his NR (Not Rated) Tokyo Gore Police came to be, the rest of the films he worked on were in the makeup department/Special Effects area, so I was a bit iffy if his second directorial motion picture would be any good seeing that his talents are strongest in structure and production. Nevertheless, with some great teamwork from co-writer Kengo Kaji (Uzumaki) and an added taste of commercials utilized in 1987's RoboCop and 1997's Starship Troopers, putting something together was minimal enough for him to concentrate more on the gore. In general, this is a comically fine film to watch in an abnormal sense and definitely worth the price of admission. Shiina portrays her character fittingly without the reminder of the tortures "Asami Yamakazaki" (main character from Audition), performed her radical fight scenes well-crafted by Tak Sakaguchi (Versus) and fits right in with the entire mind-boggling massacre. This can all be looked over while the first time viewing it is about whom gets chopped up and how it happens. See more
