Academy Award nominee Stephen Daldry's new comedy, TOGETHER, starring James McAvoy and Sharon Horgan, is the story of a family, like so many, who found a way to survive -- together. This hilarious and heartbreaking story intimately shows two partners forced to re-evaluate themselves and their relationship through the reality of lockdown.

Critics Consensus

Together is a little too effective at recreating the lockdown experience, although Sharon Horgan and James McAvoy are an appealing duo.

The writing is strong and the two actors have a surfeit of both chemistry and charisma.

"Together" should feel stagey: two dominant characters, a single shared space, near-constant dialogue. It doesn't, thanks in part to how Daldry and Martin keep the camera in frequent motion.

That it all works is down Dennis Kelly’s smart script, which throws in some surprising and unexpected twists, Stephen Daldry’s taut direction and the braveness of McAvoy and Horgan to just lay their emotions bare.
