When mankind perfects time travel, the government establishes the Time Enforcement Commission to thwart criminal attempts to alter the timeline. Police officer Walker (Jean-Claude Van Damme) is recruited by TEC Cmdr. Matuzak (Bruce McGill), but soon finds his investigation of Senator Aaron McComb (Ron Silver) being thwarted by elements within the government. When Walker's wife, Melissa (Mia Sara), is attacked, he must travel across time to rescue her and save the future.

Directed by Peter Hyams without an ounce of suspense, too much testosterone, and little or no reason, Timecop takes the fun out of what has to be one of the most enduring human fantasies to go back and make things right.

Another enjoyable effort from JCVD This film is entertaining and Sci-fi fans will enjoy the mind bending, if predictable ride. It offers nothing new but it is entertaining if you can turn your brain off for 90 mins.

Van Dammes Time travel film is no Terminator but as far as Van Damme films go it's pretty good which isn't saying much, The action was ok but the story wasn't very well done and the effects are pretty bad, It's a shame Van Damme is an after thought when it comes to Action stars but he does his best even with a pretty poor script.

Timecop seems to forget the rules they set in place for time travelers that are established in the beginning of the film by allowing Van Damme to leave behind a copy of a 2004 edition of USA Today in 1929 and mass destruction of a building. Not to mention the leaving behind of dead bodies time traveled into the past. Pure sci-fi garbage.

Synopsis
