A valiant attempt at a nuanced mother, new lover, child relationship. Beautifully acted. The mother's character is not sufficiently developed. The situation feels universal. The dramatic tension is intrnse. The ending lacks credibility (hypothermia comes quicklynot slowly when immersed in ice water in winter clothing.)
