There's simply not enough time given to any meaningful exchange of ideas. Go to Full Review

Director Gus Holwerda does his best to add tension to the mostly tame travelogue. But damned if The Unbelievers doesn't find a few new converts. Go to Full Review

Plays like a publicity stunt for its secular stars. Go to Full Review

There's so much of airports, taxis and trains that I was left with the thought that a message about the shortcomings of deities and church-going isn't best conveyed in conveyances. Go to Full Review
Ethan Alter Film Journal International Dec 11, 2013
In its reliance on sloganeering in place of substantive debate, The Unbelievers winds up being almost as insular as any dogmatic religious group. Instead of opening viewers' minds, it's just preaching to the choir. Go to Full Review

Leia W Apr 28, 2018 This is an angsty physics lecture disguised as a subversive documentary. For a film covering such curious individuals as Dawkins and Krauss, it doesn't actually seem that curious about anything other than its very myopic perspective: that science cancels out religion. Irritated and irritating. See more
Hagrid W Apr 17, 2018 The amount of sheer ignorance and foolishness to come out of both Dawkins and Krauss's mouth, is both seamless and mind blowing. For the film itself, it's heavy handed, hand fisted and downright boring. See more
Leia L Apr 16, 2018 Too much repetition of content no real depth. Very underwhelming, could have been so much better.
Finn P Dec 23, 2017 Interesting concept but could have done with more depth.
Theodore W Sep 3, 2017 And this is the guy that thinks, a mindless nothing created everything. It's funny about Richard Dawkins... he won't believe in an eternal, omniscient Creator, but he can fall in-line with Krauss and believe in the almighty nothing. I don't have enough faith to be an atheist. See more
Finn R Aug 3, 2017 Some of The Unbelievers is inspiring and heartfelt discussions and speeches on the importance of critical thinking and free thought, but most of it plays out like an overextended, overproduced music video which just happens to have 2 clever blokes in it. I watched the Bill Maher documentary Religulous not long ago, and it was far funnier, far more informative and far more rewatchable. That's not to denigrate the work and efforts of Krauss, Dawkins, Dennett and others by any means. It just doesn't offer up as much substance, and often has a hard time keeping focus, with its awkward editing often leaving you baffled as to what's actually happening. Not terrible, but I definitely found Religulous to be the more rewarding experience. See more
