Anakin R Jan 2, 2019 It's so bad that it was funny. But there was some artistic choices like the warm inviting vibe of the attic (that was supposed to be scary, btw) that was nice to look at. The actors and actresses themselves had a lot of potential, and the jump scares fell flat along with the rushed suspense- so I was thinking perhaps the director himself was lacking. The writing seemed rushed as well. It reminds me of essays I used to write in high school- the start was ok but then it all went to hell. No pun intended. See more

There was one authentically creepy scene in this movie: When the dad passed by his youngest daughter's room and sees what appears to be the daughter sitting up on her bed covered by a sheet. He walks to the bed and touches the top of what he assumes is his daughters head under the sheet it collapses onto the bed, empty. Didn't one of the Paranormal Activity movies use the same trick a few years ago? I'd have to say no to this movie if anyone asked me about it, sadly. Too many loose ends. See more

Aug 20, 2018 Horrible writing and directing left me exclaiming outloud, "Who would ever say/do that??"...and..."Oh come on!!" Maybe I dont get these new horror films. Here's a few examples: A "been empty so long" house with 100 yr old antiques in the very clean attic. The beautiful Victorian house has been kept up with modern tiles in kitchen and exterior and rooms are all well, if not freshly painted. Heck, MY 110 yr old home is scarier and has a very dusty attic with dirty and dusty exterior..cracked paint and all. A confusing scene with the father beating a bloodied pillow to..uh..death? The oldest daughter is played by an actress that is only 10 yrs younger than the actor that plays her father. Yup. It has her as being 28 and him 38 when this was made..and you can tell. The music over powers the moments that are SUPPOSE to be frightening. For instance, a framed photograph hurls itself off a bedside table..but instead of hearing the pure sound of glass breaking we hear a sudden orchestral bombardment of noise that confuses the viewer...after 20 minutes you get numb to anything spooky and it just becomes annoying...very, very annoying. Theodore R Jul 15, 2018 A generic, cliche horror movie. Something terrible happens in a house... many years later a family, stricken by grief and tragedy finds the house to be for sale at a steal of a price. They move in and find themselves subject to paranormal occurrences. It's not the worst movie I've ever seen but the acting was very average and the storyline felt like a majority of the haunted house style horror movies from the past few decades. See more

Apr 27, 2018 This movie had bad acting and horrible dialogue. It attempted to be scary but failed in every way. If you want to watch a scary movie, look else where! See more
