Critics Consensus

Populated with characters as unpleasant as its sleazy storyline, The Loft is uninhabitable for all but the least demanding erotic thriller fans.

Erotic thrillers are a time-tested genre, but this effort, scripted by Wesley Strick, is neither erotic nor thrilling.

This new iteration proves such a dour hodgepodge of bad behavior, bald-faced misogyny and ping-ponging alliances, it's more alienating than alluring.

The Loft is a film that can't decide what it wants. It's a male fantasy, and a cautionary tale. It's sleazy in concept, and timid in execution. It punishes its protagonists for their transgressions, then lets them off the hook.

The characters are so unlikeable that viewers will be rooting for them all to get their just desserts.

Unfortunately, its ridiculousness and the in-your-face sleaze factor doesn't leave the viewer feeling anything.

I donï¿ 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2 1/2(TM)t know why all these uptight critics have to ruin movies for other people that take the ratings seriously before watching something. I thought this movie was quite good! It grabbed your interest right away and kept it all throughout the movie.

The story is unclear, the script is weak, the names didn't buy the film the worth to be watched. Scripted by Wesley Strick, the film does not know what it wants.

This has to be one of the 5 worst movies I have ever seen...i don't know how even to begin to describe it...the dialogue feels like it was written by a fourth grader who has watched too much daytime TV...the directing and storytelling is laughable at best, and outright embarrassing at it's worst. The only thing I give this movie credit for is bringing together a semi credible cast and making them all look like they have the acting skills of porn actors.

I don't know ow what everyone else saw....but I loved that movie. I'm big on suspense thrillers and this was a good one. From beginning to end. I even recommend this movie to family and friends to see.
