What to Know

Critics Consensus

It arguably plays most strongly to fans of the British series, but even viewers who have never seen The Inbetweeners on TV may find themselves won over by the film's surprisingly tender ribaldry.

Plenty of funny bits, and apart from some fairly appalling underlying sexism -- guys, screw up all you like, the movie says, because the nice, pretty girls will forgive any transgression -- it actually attempts to have heart as well. Go to Full Review

You may not be proud of it, but you'll probably find something to laugh at in "The Inbetweeners Movie." Go to Full Review

I'm disappointed that they turned my horny-teen comedy into a gross-out comedy. Go to Full Review

It's a simple coming of age comedy about four friends, each an archetypal character - the nerdy one, the lovelorn one, the bullshitter and the happy fool - all with similar goals... Go to Full Review

This is one overly long television treatment not fit for feature length running time. Go to Full Review

Compared to its closest ancestor from across the pond, American Pie, this is a more genteel, less varnished, British view of awkward teens trying to get their leg over. Go to Full Review

Ron L Feb 23, 2019 A very funny movie that is based off of a very funny British TV series that unfortunately only aired 3 seasons. This is basically an extended episode of the show but it does very well honoring the TV series and even if you have not seen the TV series it is still worth a watch. The movie is very relate able and it is a lot like a mix of Superbad and American Pie and if you like those then this is definitely worth a watch. See more
Nov 19, 2018 I think the reason most people dislike this is because the characters at first seem unlikable. This is understandable as thinking about it I would not like them seeing this the first time either. That is one of the movies few faults, only appealing to audiences that have seen the show before. However it delivers a wonderfully well put together movie with one of the only sequels in history to be better than the first movie as well as one of the few movies to be just as good as the series. I highly suggest if you want to enjoy this movie you watch the series first but if you just want something to hate on and can't be bothered then stay away from this franchise for good. See more

Hermione W Dec 8, 2017 Goodness who scraped the bottom of the bed pan for this crap. Thanks to Netfix and a very long trip I've watched annoying series and movie. The storyline is annoying. That's it nothing else just annoying you want bad things to happen to these characters. See more
Draco L May 29, 2017 Hilarious film. Over the top but very reminiscent of British school life. A carry on version of the History Boys. Ignore the high brow but low comments of the stuck up critics. This film has me laughing all the way through. See more
Kylo R Oct 29, 2015 If you're a fan of the hilarious TV series, you will find enjoyment in this movie. It tends to rely on gross-out humor just a bit too much and doesn't always have the same smart raunchy humor the show had, but it still made me laugh pretty consistently. It was a blast seeing this characters again and I enjoyed their chemistry as I always have. The movie also has a surprising amount of heart too. While the situations are ridiculous and not remotely plausible, it is still a lot of fun. If you're a fan of the show, this movie isn't as good, but you'll still enjoy it. If you don't like the show, this movie isn't designed to win you over. It's for the fans, and as one, I had a good time watching it.  See more
