What to Know

Critics Consensus

Slow and mostly devoid of the stellar chemistry between its two leads, The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest is a disappointingly uneven conclusion to the Millennium trilogy.

For me the most deadening aspect of these films is the presence of Michael Nykvist as Blomqvist; he seems to have a personality by-pass, and remains expressionless at all times, no matter what's going on. Go to Full Review

The best thing that can be said about the excruciatingly dull, badly made closing chapter in this punishingly bad Swedish crime trilogy is that it really whets the appetite for the upcoming American version. Go to Full Review

Seeing the first two films -- The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and The Girl Who Played with Fire -- will make the third film more satisfying. Go to Full Review

It’s a gloomy affair — in this movie’s Sweden, it’s either raining, is about to rain, or has just rained — with precious little levity and almost no interaction between Lisbeth and Mikael. Go to Full Review

Anakin S Mar 8, 2019 mostly boring. focused on everything except the title character. lacked what made the first one good. i cared less for this than the second one, but there were parts i liked, including the conclusion, which was also wrapped up the trilogy. (2 viewings) See more
Hagrid P Feb 21, 2019 Pretty good and the first time I watched without first listening to the book.
Han P Aug 14, 2018 4/5. Noomi Rapce and Michael Nyqvist are both great, but don't get enough time together. The courtroom thriller aspects are excellent and very satisfying. It's not as good at the first film, but is better than the second. See more
Han R Feb 19, 2018 A disappointing third part of the trilogy. Very pedestrian action and a linear story with no real twists.
Hermione W May 4, 2017 Seems like it was rushed out on a tv budget. Overall less compelling than the first 2
Harry M Mar 5, 2010 Enough sting to be a satisfying conclusion.
