A lightweight comedy aimed, presumably, at tweeners and fans of World Wrestling Entertainment Go to Full Review

"The Chaperone" is dreadful enough to make you wish Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson was still making family movies. Go to Full Review
Ronnie Scheib Variety Feb 17, 2011
Presumably there's an audience out there for old-fashioned, poorly written, unevenly thesped, family-friendly tales of redemption starring beefy wrestlers and a bunch of kids, but it's difficult to imagine who. Go to Full Review

Wrestler's family comedy is forgettable but OK for tweens. Go to Full Review

It's good, clean entertainment and if you have children and are looking for a night out with them, where they won't be rolling their eyes, they'll have a good time and you might even enjoy yourself, somewhat, as well. Go to Full Review

Hagrid M Mar 28, 2019 great story and a beautiful film
Finn G Jul 1, 2018 Just looking at the cover of the Chaperone made me groan a familiar sigh in remembrance of past tough-guy nanny movies (Kindergarten Cop, the Pacifier, Mr. Nanny, Tooth Fairy, Spy Kids). I was sure at a glance that this film was a waste of time. But some familiar faces (Yeardley Smith, Ariel Winter, Kevin Corrigan) and some decent acting from Paul Levesque (Triple H's performance is five times better than those of past wrestler-stars like John Cena, Steve Austin, Terry Hogan and others like Dolph Lundgren, Vin Diesel and Antonio Banderas and even Arnold Schwarzenegger). I don't know whether Levesque can embark on a journey of epic Hollywood conquest like Dwayne Johnson, but I will definitely be paying attention and keeping an eye out for whatever film he's in next.
