When the actions of Jason Bourne spark a fire that threatens to burn down decades of research across a number of secret intelligence agencies, Eric Byer (Edward Norton), the man who built the programs, decides he must sacrifice one of them: Outcome. Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner), one of Outcome's six agents, and research scientist Marta Shearing (Rachel Weisz) go on the run when Byer targets them for termination. I felt that this movie was fantastic! I love how the Bourne legacy and Bourne ultimatum follow along at kinda the same time. I like that we get to see more into the treadstone and blackbriar projects. We also get a glimpse into Jason Bourne s past and his connection to the other operatives, and into other operatives lives. I think it was awesome that we got to see a different point of view, a different story that's still connected to the original one. Oh and some super cool action scenes!

Not as good as the original trilogy, but still entertaining. Once again, another made up story that has nothing to do with the novel, but I didn't expect any different. This movie as not as fast-paced this time, and there are a couple moments of drag. But my main issue with the movie is the copy-cat action scenes. There were moments where I felt like I was watching THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM, with the rooftop chase or the motorbike stunts in Manila, or THE BOURNE SUPREMACY, when they escape from the hotel, and THE BOURNE IDENTITY, when Aaron Cross broke into Dr. Shearing's house to kill all the bad guys. See? Nearly every action scene felt copied off from the previous installments. The only original moment for me was the mountain trek during the first 30 minutes of the film. But other than that, I thought Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weisz were very good in this movie. They were very convincing in their roles. THE BOURNE LEGACY is a fun action flick, but don't have too high expectations.

I thought the movie was good enough. Renner did a decent job, movie was interesting enough, action scenes were fine. It's nothing I have not seen before, but it entertains for a couple hours.

I skipped seeing this when it first came out in 2012, because the offbeat lead character replacement made it look like it was an undersized spin-off of a franchise that I never cared much for. Jeremy Renner does justice in replacing Matt Damon as the protagonist, yet as expected; it's generic "spy on the run" plotline gives rise to just an average predictable action movie.
