Whether you live in a country with free healthcare or not, the sheer gall of some companies in rushing out products prior to being thoroughly vetted is astonishing. Which, of course, makes for compelling viewing.

Plot is stunning. Structure could have been made more captivating. Although I really liked the story, I had sometimes to stop me from fading away in daydreams because of the long-winded nature. However, all in all a must watch for everyone interested in medical science.

As a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor, I'm terrified by this documentary. Recent days, Western Medicine is blowing up China, but people know nothing about the side effects of Western Medicine. Pray for those victims of so called "innovated medical equipments".

While this film brings forth some important points about how the FDA has failed us and how much more testing is needed, i think unfortunately, it presents a very unbalanced look at the device industry. Having worked in the industry--in marketing--for over 20 years, i have, in fact, once seen an executive try to push a product to market that wasn't ready, and could have POTENTIALLY been dangerous. And as the person who was trying to stop him, I can attest to how hard it was to stop it all. But thankfully, we were able to stop it and the device didn't go to market until years later after more testing and refinement. The rest of the time, however, I've seen people's lives change for the better in some really dramatic ways. There are so many brilliant, compassionate people working in the industry. I worry that this film demonizes the industry as a whole, and will scare people away from RECEIVING devices that can safely and effectively IMPROVE their quality of life. So i agree with many of the things the film says--do your homework first, maybe don't choose the newest product on the market BECAUSE it's less tested than older PRODUCTS, check out which doctors are being paid by which companies...yes, yes, yes to all of that. But don't let this film scare you away from a device that can make your life better. The vast majority of them do.
