What to Know

Critics Consensus

The Bad Batch has its moments, but it's too thinly written and self-indulgent to justify its length or compensate for its slow narrative drift.

The Bad Batch never organizes itself around a coherent idea or works up the urgency to pay off its premise. Go to Full Review

The Bad Batch has enough flashy, fashionably grim accessories and accoutrements to fill a Hot Topic. Go to Full Review

All of these elements unfold in more a stream-of-thought manner than real design. And Waterhouse turns in a solid performance. Go to Full Review

Sad, without such a limp noodle in the lead I really could've gone places with The Bad Batch - there's whole lots to love stuffed and sauteed at its margins Go to Full Review

With a powerful soundtrack accompanied by a strong visual proposal, The Bad Batch reminds us more of a good video clip than a film. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

Starts strong with startling images but every time it works up a head of steam it veers off track. Its languid pace and stretched-out story makes the two-hour running time feel much longer. Go to Full Review

Hagrid M Apr 5, 2019 Another strange movie with an unusual soundtrack to match. The idea of a young independent female being tossed into a cruel world of cannibals is truly disturbing. The plot is really weak and needed to have much more thought before even bringing it to life. I enjoyed the performances of the cast whom are all very talented indeed. I was overall disappointed by the length of this film and how nothing seemed to go anywhere in all of the time that it had. See more
Poe G Mar 4, 2019 Hipsters attempt to make Mad Max meets Escape from LA. They fail miserably. The end.
Anakin R Mar 1, 2019 Brutal, but with depth. No wonder Jim Carrey took the part
Theodore S Feb 13, 2019 Just like riding that rickety old rollercoaster that gets stuck every once in a while... We may have done it before, but it is still a fun ride. It went out on a limb which payed off. Excellent sound, cast, and pop culture references. Its slow pace gnaws at the nerves, but with a purpose. The Bad Batch is a great catch and can stand on its own 2 legs at the end of the day. See more
