Abraham L Apr 16, 2019 Such an impressive movie. I love the acting, it was excellent and the story was great as well. This is also really helpful for people who want to know how Facebook was made. See more
Apr 16, 2019 Finely written by Sorkin and very refreshingly paced with Fincher's direction, The Social Network was a rollercoaster experience guiding its viewers through the darker side of our human nature and what we can end up doing in our own desires to get ahead. Credits as well to the score, and the editing (which I don't usually point out, but my goodness was it expertly done). Still though, I can't say that this film is a favourite of mine. My biggest problem was with the film's decision to distort its subject matter. Sure, you can change things up for the truth, and "The Favourite" is an example of a film that has done this impeccably well: it is so loosely based on its real story, but it tells a tale that is so finely crafted and vividly realized that you don't mind how its left out so many details (because it's not trying to tell us the truth). Here though, that difference isn't reconciled, and we're left with a film trying to tug away to explore some of its deeper themes, yet connect these fictional events to reality. I guess this may not even be the film's problem and more to do with with Zuckerberg's role as an influential figure necessitating a comparison between the film and himself. Still, though, the film hasn't tried to complexly explore any of its character's main motives other than "I want to be famous". It paints Zuckerberg as an eccentric figure who continuously emphasized being cool before being swayed by Sean Parker to start up ads, when Saverin suggested them in the first place? This ended up making the film incomplete, failing to expand on its full potential of being a thorough character study. Credits though to Garfield, who showcased why he's in the business. Eisenberg, was OK, but I felt his performance was one-note, not helped by the film's failure to explain the changes of his character clearly. See more
Ron S Apr 13, 2019 One of the best screenwriters working combines with a director that doesn't know how to be boring to create an instant classic you'll forget is essentially all dialogue. See more
Leia W Apr 7, 2019 Very overrated and one-sided description of how Facebook came to be.
Luke W Apr 6, 2019 Great script with great dialogue, riveting performances and top-notch directing from David Fincher make The Facebook Movie/The Social Network one of the best films of 2010. Just keep in mind you're going to see a movie, not a documentary so don't get distracted by romanticization that the real Mark Zuckerberg didn't like. See more
