When John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg) was a little boy, he made a wish that Ted (Seth MacFarlane), his beloved teddy bear, would come alive. Thirty years later, foul-mouthed Ted is still John's constant companion, much to the chagrin of Lori (Mila Kunis), John's girlfriend. Though Lori's displeasure is exacerbated by the pair's constant consumption of beer and weed, she's not the one who's most disappointed with John; it may take the intervention of John's boyhood toy to help him grow up at last.

What to Know

Critics Consensus

Ted's "romance versus bromance" plot is familiar, but the film's held aloft by the high-concept central premise and a very funny (albeit inconsistent) script.

The greatest compliment I can pay Seth MacFarlane's Ted is that although this is essentially one of those slacker, stoner comedies, and such comedies aren't really my thing... this did make me laugh quite a bit. Go to Full Review

It is a film that seems to have an endless middle. Go to Full Review

There's just enough mileage in the gag to keep the movie spluttering through an energetic series of pop-cultural references and broadly staged orgies of profanity. Go to Full Review

"Ted," while extremely funny in individual jokes here and there, suffers from that lame and predictable story, especially for something that advertises itself to be as daring. Go to Full Review

Ted becomes a character that’s more than just a plot device or source of vulgar humor; he’s one of those oddly real characters brought to life by subtle and effective special FX. Go to Full Review

Ten years after its release, films like Ted make one wonder what is it that we collectively saw in man-children on the screen. Go to Full Review

Feb 8, 2019 Really funny at at times really stupid, Ted is not only extremely well performed by its all-star cast and an extremely satirical and stupidly funny film, its script and direction is also impressive, the music and touch is perfect which all makes for a very watchable and humorous comedy, the movie does still repeat itself and does feel tiring and slow-moving at times. Harry M Jan 22, 2019 A fine comedy with average Humor and a little grain of mature Humor. The movie is fine shot, nothing too special and nothing to boring. The acting is fine, and the actors make it kinda seem like ted is actually there. despite the pretty terrible cgi. Its a fine comedy for a weekend evening. See more
George G Jan 19, 2019 Still funny but some of it's jokes feel recycled and repetitive. The acting is average for a comedy but it does boast some funny cameos See more
George S Dec 22, 2018 You'll probably need a beer or two to be able to to stomach the vuglarity of this one. But it does just enough to keep your attention. See more
Anakin R Nov 22, 2018 This film is the funniest film we've ever seen. The storyline is good and the actors are funny. But at the beginning of the film, it's too long and not funny. The jokes are the best I've ever heard. Ted is really well maked, I love it. He has no condescension and it's what it makes him funny. I advise you to go to the cinema to see this classic of funny movies! See more
Abraham R Nov 4, 2018 "Ted" é hilário. O seu humor é um pouco inapropriado, o enredo é um pouco estranho, mas tudo faz sentido no final.
