Lazy filmmaking that fails to engage anyone who doesn't have a personal connection to the story. It's so well-meaning that it ultimately means nothing much at all. Go to Full Review

This is a film about respect and dignity, both in death and in life. And we hope that we may be treated with the same level of careful attention. Go to Full Review

Draco W Feb 9, 2019 Eventful and paces like a funeral procession as an honorable tribute to a fallen soldier in a representational, orderly fashion that the film duplicated very well, especially Bacon's performance in the front line. (B+) (Full review TBD) See more
Hagrid G Nov 16, 2018 Anyone having a loved one that has, or is serving in the military will find this movie emotionally moving. As a Marine, I found Taking Chance the most powerful of any military based documentary film. A MUST see. See more
Hagrid S Jun 17, 2018 Simple and beautiful, Semper Fi
George R Apr 13, 2018 I lived this in 2007. The only difference is that the deceased was a friend and I was one of his mentors. I cried like a 3 yr old. It hit me in the gut and heart. The Rotten Tomato critics are clueless in regards to rating a true Military story especially in regards to how the average citizen views a tragic event like this. From California all the way to Virginia in uniform witha casket I received identical treatment just like in the movie. You don't have to personally connected to someone who has died but no one will fault you for paying reverence to a fallen warrior. These critics are the same ones that mourn and make a spectacle when an entertainer dies. Those entertainers don't volunteer to lay down their lives for anyone. See more
Poe L Mar 8, 2018 Very powerful and moving picture.
Jan 28, 2018 If the RT critics hate it, you know it's good.
