Harry Windsor The Hollywood Reporter Feb 22, 2018
Elliott whizzes from montage to sight gag to flashbacks and flash-forwards, skittering sideways for frequent discursions about the family pets, or a disastrous incident with a beach umbrella. Go to Full Review

This is a movie that had an immediate effect on me and my co-viewer. We talked about it for hours. It's still on my mind. Go to Full Review

It's a full-throttle 90 minutes of sensory overload on '70s interiors and heinous fashion, but there's also an undercurrent of just how hard it can be for teenagers to push away from parents and find their own identity. Go to Full Review

It is an enormously mediocre film, potentially bland and without any grace that uses comedy and a very poor narrative to address issues of nostalgia, family and adolescence. [Full review in Spanish] Go to Full Review

In the end, what Swinging Safari lacks in the story is made up in originality and a satisfying art direction. Go to Full Review

Abraham R Mar 13, 2019 A sheer nostalgic delight the whole way through. Kylie Minogue's performance alone makes the film worth seeing.
Feb 17, 2019 If you want to have a good time watching a movie with different moods, you should see Swinging Safari. It's fun from the beginning to the end. Very good. See more
Hagrid R Feb 15, 2019 Having grown up through the mid 70's I was kind of hoping this would be a bit of a time warp for me as well as a good laugh. Sadly this movie has disappointed on both counts. There's a woeful and at times cringe worthy story line and pathetic acting from all concerned topped off by sets, costumes and hair styles that don't even try to represent the particular part of the 70's they're trying to portray. About the only things that did ring true were the street scenes with kids everywhere getting up to no good while the adults did their own thing, the tortoise tied to the hills hoist and the nylon pyjamas going up in flames. In 1975 there were no Betamax video players, no Blue Light Disco's, No undercut hairstyles, KFC was a real treat and something you had once every pancake day, little kids didn't say F#ck to or around their parents (unless they had a death wish), they also didn't use words like 'MEGA' or phrases like "I'm all good". Honestly, I don't know what age group the film makers were aiming for with this, maybe it's younger generations. But if those that were actually there like myself can't find it funny then I fail to see how anyone else can. P.S. Guy Pierce, what were you thinking mate? Surely you're not this hard up for a gig! Leia G Oct 27, 2018 A non-event of a movie, despite its star-studded cast. Any appeal comes only from the nostalgia of seeing 1974 Australia on screen in all its cask wine, sunken lounge and Kentucky Fried Chicken Nobbys Beach glory. It's a wasted opportunity though as there are too many characters and couple to engender much audience engagement in their individual stories of bored parental debauchery. See more
Poe G Sep 6, 2018 GROSE AND GROUSE IN ONE MOVIE !!
Leia L Aug 12, 2018 Terrible I have never reviewed a movie before but felt compelled as it was so bad, I'm a big fan of some of the cast members so that made it even more disapointing. I grew up in the 70's the movie was totally overdone unbelievable and stupid, just terrible beyond words See more
