Polished without ever achieving much in the realm of suspense or emotional involvement. Go to Full Review

The plot twists we get are not the ones we want. They look like complications, but they don't deepen the story or connect it to any wider ideas. Go to Full Review

Pretty but oh-so-dumb, "Sugar Mountain" is the cinematic equivalent of a himbo. Go to Full Review

This ridiculous thriller centers on just about the dumbest scheme ever invented for a movie, yet the filmmakers don't show any awareness of the plan's absurdity; it's played dismayingly straight. Go to Full Review

Sugar Mountain isn't flawless ... but, if you're willing to go along for the ride, it's an unexpectedly entertaining, gratifying 106-minute adventure. Go to Full Review

Mar 31, 2019 Awesome though predictable !
Poe R Mar 24, 2019 The dark escalator has a similar driving force with the immorality being wrongfully weak, but it still provides a thought-provoking conspiracy behind its targeted topic that has brought in minimal thrills. (B-) See more
Ron M Feb 9, 2018 This was a very likeable little thriller. Interesting premise with some nice twists. Good acting and great scenic shots.
Dec 10, 2017 Pathetic, nothing, NOTHING is good in this movie ! Nor the scenario nor the actors, nor even the staging ! Honestly, it's one of the worst movie I have ever seen. See more
Han L Jul 25, 2017 Wow. This film was pretty dang bad. I watched it because I am a sucker for mountain films, but some nice scenery couldn't save this. The plot premise could've maybe worked, but the amount or forced twists, the very mediocre acting and the complete lack of depth, made for a overly complicated bore. Momoa was over the top, but did bring some life into the otherwise flat-lining story. The film's problems are from the ground up with a screenplay that is very weak. The set up is that of a terrible soap: we have a ménage à trois from childhood on top of parental affairs with incest and betrayal and more betrayal and conniving motivation-less characters. The cover of the DVD is the best part, a pretty mountain. Sorry, guys. You win some, you lose some. See more
Anakin W Jun 12, 2017 I don't know how to feel about this one. The Alaskan scenery and the score brought me in at the beginning, but the characters really made it a struggle to get through. I thought the premise was good, but the execution wasn't good enough. It was hard to really feel anything for anyone, because as the movie progressed, they all turned out to be bad people. See more
