George M Feb 1, 2019 Suburbicicon. A peaceful, quiet community where life is easy and every day is a wonderful day. Except for two families, for completely different reasons. The ratings are rather low on this film but I found it better than the critics have demonstrated with their vote. You might like it. See more

Finn W Jan 15, 2019 Primo film diretto da George Clooney che vedo, co-scritto coi fratelli Coen e Heslov e mi è piaciuto parecchio. Non riesco a comprendere, invece, come sia possibile che non sia stato apprezzato quanto meritasse e che sia passato in sordina. Matt Damon e Julianne Moore sono stati bravissimi, così come Oscar Isaac nonostante il discreto minutaggio avuto in scena. E poi c'è Glenn Fleshler che mi metteva una paura e un'angoscia addosso incredibile, con quella sua faccia che mi ricordava qualcuno (True Detective). Il film è ambientato a Suburbicon, come da titolo, una cittadina nata da pochi anni, nemmeno venti se non sbaglio, che conta circa 50/60.000 abitanti; un giorno si trasferisce nella cittadina una famiglia di neri, affianco alla casa dei Lodge (Damon e famiglia), e da lì scoppia il putiferio. Mentre tutti gli abitanti sono impegnati a rovinare la vita di questa povera famiglia onesta, nella casa affianco si scatena un'ondata di violenza e sangue. E sta qui la critica al razzismo e a tutte le persone che hanno i paraocchi. L'unico personaggio che fa amicizia coi nuovi arrivati è il piccolo Lodge, l'unico alla fine a salvarsi, un innocente che non vede differenze tra bianco o nero. Ovviamente essendo scritto dai Coen non può mancare l'humor da commedia nera tipico dei loro film. Ottimo prodotto, peccato sia stato poco gradito dal pubblico e anche dalla critica. See more

Most critics basing their personal rating on being PC degenerates and offended by the part where the african family is harassed in the neighborhood when they move in. Thats pathetic if you bash a great movie for a part that you did not like because you are over the edge. Its also a STORY.....omg. FYI If rotten tomatoes can give the blair witch project an 87% but this 23% . Clearly ratings are gone to shit. Watch it. I liked it. Matt Damon acted amazing. Moore was good too. Story is awesome. See more
