As good as the concept might be, as strong as Bennett (best known as the object of Lindsay Lohan's affections in Mean Girls) is as the psychologically scarred and physically injured hero, Milam's screenplay just never finds a comfortable groove.

The jumbled chronology is the movie's biggest misstep. The writer and director don't seem to trust their own premise, jumping around in time to fill in the dull details of why the limo's in the drink.

Submerged is a whole mess of tension primed to leave viewers in an anxiety-induced pile of helplessness, which means it does its job pretty damn well.

This is about the worst acting I've ever seen in my life. If I was in a car accident with a group of people and we ended up under water with air to breathe, I am very sure that every single person would not be absolutely screaming and flipping out at the top of their lungs, panicking and trying to push the ceiling upward so that they have more room. I can see one person possibly reacting that way but not every single person in the car. People are not that stupid overall. This is going to fall into a Darwin category and if these people are that pathetic they will all surely die either in this car on your way home afterwards.

I can't tell if it's low budgeting or part of the plot but I think the girlfriend from the beginning of the movie was recycled as a bad guy in the end? Can't tell but still 5/5 stars would recommend to everyone I know
