Critics Consensus

Like most modern animated movies, Strange Magic is lovely to look at; unfortunately, there isn't much going on beneath the surface.

The best Lucas film in 25 years: funny, idiosyncratic, hippy-dippy, packed with creatures and visions worth beholding. Go to Full Review

By the time the film's ending upends traditional conventions with its unlikely couplings, you're too distracted to fully appreciate the chutzpah, instead cringing at the opening chords of "Wild Thing." Go to Full Review

Apr 12, 2019 It was created to be a family movie, and that's exactly what it delivered. Just because some fancy pants critics don't like it doesn't make it a bad movie. See more
Albus S Mar 30, 2019 The characters were two dimensional, the animation is lovely but outdated, and a lot of the dialogue fails to hit... Despite that it has become one of my favorite movies. The movie is campy and full of cleches, making it a fun break from more serious films. A great sick day activity or something to watch with your kids because it requires minimum concentration while delivering a feel-good plot. See more
Hermione G Feb 20, 2019 I did not think I would like it, but gave it a chance and quite enjoyed it. Ignore the critics, they have no imagination.
Feb 15, 2019 This is actually one of I and my wife's favourite movies. We don't even have kids and we loved it. The animation is good, don't listen to the haters. The musical bits are pretty funky and it's actually one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. Good message too :P See more
Harry P Jan 22, 2019 Personally I liked it and the kids liked it, I dont see why people had a problem with it.
Ron S Jan 8, 2019 This movie is awful.I hope there isn't gonna be a sequel to STRANGE MAGIC.
