Musical group Strange Fruit had a bitter breakup in the 1970s, but now, 20 years later, keyboard player Tony (Stephen Rea) wants to get the band back together. Joining Tony is old cohort Karen (Juliet Aubrey), who helps convince lead singer Ray (Bill Nighy), bassist Les (Jimmy Nail), drummer Beano (Timothy Spall) and longtime roadie Hughie (Billy Connolly) of the wisdom of a reunion. What to Know

Critics Consensus

Still Crazy can't completely escape the shadow left by the classic rock mockumentaries of the past, but it earns a commendable number of laughs in its own right.

There aren't a lot of plot surprises in Still Crazy, and the ending is more or less as expected -- indeed, as decreed by the comeback genre. But the characters are sharply defined and well-written, and we come to like them. Go to Full Review

Sep 11, 2018 Great Movie! I have a hard time finding anything wrong with this film. One of my favorite movies ever. Perfect Cast, Good Music, Feel Good Story. Bruce Robinson, Stephen Rea , Jimmy Naill, Timothy Spall and Billy Connolly=Amazing See more
Ron W Feb 22, 2018 A very likeable film about rock band members preparing for a reunion gig. Nuanced comedy benefits greatly from Nighy and Spall, but dramatic subplots become less impactful; it doesn't quite sustain the balance. Great music, though! See more
Theodore W Sep 25, 2017 Charming if never quite as funny as its premise suggests. I had expected some Spinal Tap level antics here, and while there's plenty of pointless bickering and OTT drama the film ends up taking the side of these aging rockstars rather than just ridiculing them. Even Bill Nighy's prima dona lead vocalist gets played for pathos as well as laughs since his antics are largely a result of major insecurities that arise partly from being a replacement for their original singer and the band never letting him forget it. While it's nice that this film's not as relentlessly cynical as it could be, the pathos does rather edge out the comedy. Ah well, c'est la vie. See more
