What to Know

Critics Consensus

Though hampered by an uneven second half, Stephen King's It supplies a wealth of funhouse thrills and an indelible turn from Tim Curry as Pennywise.

Not only is the violence and gore more implied than shown, you always seem to know when it is coming and are rather prepared for it. There is little of that what-is-going-to-happen-next-I-can't-look feeling. Go to Full Review

When It sticks to the story about Pennywise preying on the town's children, the mini-series is engrossing. The actors have a rapport and their friendship is believable. Go to Full Review

Apr 19, 2019 While unable to fully follow the book due to it being adapted for television, It is an excellent effort. The cast is top notch, and fully embodies the characters from the book. Overall, this was the best TV adaptation of a Stephen King novel. See more
Apr 17, 2019 Moderately creepy, this is a pretty average telling of Stephen King's book, though I prefer the novel. Unfortunately, animations are so underdeveloped that they detract from the story, making what could have been a terrifying scene, cringeworthy or amusing. See more
Rey R Apr 11, 2019 A Stephen King classic, but not one that has aged well.
Apr 2, 2019 Classic by king even with its patent ending.
Draco P Mar 14, 2019 Tim Curry was good and the movies alright but dated.
George P Mar 10, 2019 Even this movie has bad actor moment, its still very good.
