Starts off funny but becomes a frustrating exercise in dj vu for anyone who's graduated from high school or seen a movie.

Little more than a feature-length tween sitcom episode, Status Update is not exactly a good movie. However, its script is earnest enough and its cast is endearing enough that it's just a better editor away from being not bad.

This teen comedy with a "be yourself" message is slickly artificial, grinding painfully through extremely well-worn plot mechanics and essentially failing to follow its own message.

Fun young adult flick featuring a talented Ross Lynch as the main boy.

It`s a fun, fluffy movie with no intentions of being serious. It is quite predictable, but it has a few refreshing twists and subtly mocks every high school movie ever, without being a disaster movie. It addresses the worn-out topic of the "dangers' of social media without it being the sole narrative. The performances are as good as one could expect from former Disney stars. I found it quite enjoyable, at times even hilarious. Not necessarily a must-see, but definitely not a waste of time.
