Stargirl teaches Leo everything and then teaches herself a thing or two herself as an afterthought. It's hard to work out who it's aimed at, unless teenage boys are suddenly turning to Disney for lessons in life and love.

A music video posing as a feel good film, Stargirl - like the source material - inherently misunderstands its own message about non-conformity and inadvertently recreates a tired celebration of the manic pixie dream girl. A YA disaster.
