Froggatt is superb: a woman finding the good in her heart, painfully and tearfully, because that's the only way to fight the instincts of pitying revulsion counselled by the bad in her heart. Go to Full Review

Depicting a courageous fight back with compassion and sincerity, this capably played drama has its heart firmly in the right place. Go to Full Review

A tale of endurance that is explored intimately but somewhat prosaically, this is probably better suited to television than cinema. Go to Full Review

A dynamic British indie that highlights essential human drama in amongst an inconspicuous disease, Starfish packs a potent punch about life's fragility. Go to Full Review

Ron S Apr 18, 2019 beautiful masterpiece
Hagrid S Apr 12, 2019 Great movie about grief
Apr 8, 2019 While some of the camera work was moderately engaging, the rest of the film was not. This is one of the only movies I've ever seen that I still can't explain what it was even about - likely as a result of the disjointed storytelling and overly indulgent artistic shots. See more
Rey W Apr 2, 2019 I'm going to be thinking about this movie for a while. There's so many layers to this movie and each one fit perfectly with the others. I loved all of the textures and sound layering, this movie was sad, it was creepy, it made me smile, it startled me, i cried... If you are given the chance to see this in theaters i recommend you do so. This is a great start for A.T. White, I'm excited to see whatever he creates in the future. See more
Leia S Apr 2, 2019 As a very casual movie goer I feel like the term âindie filmâ? has been watered down to mean ânot mainstreamâ? so when my boyfriend said weâ(TM)re going to a indie movie at Alamo I assume its a Sundance award winning, high budget film with a director that just doesnâ(TM)t want to make Hollywood hits. I didnâ(TM)t realize how actually indie this movie was until the director Q&A afterwards. I was shocked that it was the directorâ(TM)s first film and the budget was under $1 million. The acting, music, set design, effects, everything seemed right in line with all the multi-million dollar films out there. I really loved the central theme of music throughout the movie and the score was amazing. Since Iâ(TM)m a really casual movie person the most important thing for me is that the film is interesting all the way through and Starfish is. The blend of science fiction and the deeper theme of loss was something I had never seen done so it kept my attention. One of my favorite parts was the ending but I wonâ(TM)t spoil it! See more
Finn M Mar 17, 2019 There is something there of value, but the frustration in trying to follow the story and enjoy the movie is just too strong. I get the whole "this is meant to convey emotion rather than a solid plot" thing. And I feel bad to rank it poorly, as the quality and effort are definitely there on the part of the director. I also absolutely left the theater pondering the movie for a couple of days (which normally is a positive for me). But I just didn't enjoy it, despite this being my kind of movie. :( See more
