The success of The Last Jedi, like its father before it, will most likely rest on the conclusion of the trilogy.

"Star Wars" is not "Breaking Bad," and the same narrative tricks that worked for the latter feel jarringly out of place in the former.

The Last Jedi is very much its own entity, exploring new routes as it teases out themes that have always been present in the Skywalker saga.

"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" takes its mountain of hype and shoves it away to make something nonconformist and wholly compelling in quite possibly the richest and most expressive entry of the storied franchise.

The Last Jedi is not just a great Star Wars film – it rivals the daring, innovation and thematic richness of even the original trilogy.

Ruined the legacy of Star Wars. Everything interesting was tossed away in an attempt to "subvert expectations".

Anakin W

Apr 11, 2019

The movie, although enjoyable at times has so many subplots and characters, all of which don't contribute in any way to the plot. Furthermore, alot of these characters are majorly down played (asian women and Mark Hammil especially) and the direction they went with for Rey, Kylo and Snoke wasn't what many wanted.

Terrible movie that broke the star wars universe. Approximately 30 minutes of the film was useless when Admiral Holdo refuses to share her heroic plan with the rest of the group. Luke rolls over and dies for no reason. Truly a terrible movie.

Really disappointed with the direction they took compared to the force awakens.

This film did a disservice to fans who have been awaiting the return of Luke for 30 years. If you want to watch a film that treats the decline of it's hero better, watch Logan. This is an abysmal film.
