Critics Consensus

St. Agatha makes admittedly uneven use of its story's well-worn religious tropes, but the overall effect may still be just chilling enough for horror fans.

This is a bold, broad portrait of a secret society, left alone by the government to rule their own roost by fear.

St. Agatha may take too long to get going, but once the film is up and running it's perverse, overheated fun.

St. Agatha is less overtly gory and supernatural-oriented than most efforts of its ilk, but it provides plenty of chilling, if slow-moving atmospherics and strong performances.

The film as a whole ends up feeling a bit long and this may lose some people but the ending is absolutely worth sticking around as well as the evolution of Sabrina Kern as Mary from her meek start to the end where she changes in the ways she needs.

St. Agatha is far from perfect but it sure is disturbing and extremely chilling. The movie is surprisingly effective in setting the proper suspenseful mood and manages to be overly realistic for its insane story. The acting was solid and the ending satisfactory. Overall this is a movie worth watching if you've got the stomach for it.

Superb thriller, found myself very tense mostly because this wasn't anything of supernatural nature, but just how evil humans can be to other humans. Grotesque, unnerving...yet strangely entertaining.

Freaky and bonkers all at the same time. A compelling horror with excellent performances by Sabrina Kern and Hannah Fierman. Certain moments will have you squirming in your seat! Fans of this genre will love this.

What a great storyline. This movie is very well done. It had me hooked, right from the start. Consistent suspense throughout the movie. With no dull spots. One for the collection.
