Cassidy (Briana Evigan), Jessica (Leah Pipes), Ellie (Rumer Willis), Claire (Jamie Chung) and Megan (Audrina Patridge) are sorority sisters and true-blue friends to the end -- until a prank gone wrong results in Megan's demise. Rather than risk their futures by reporting the crime, the friends agree to cover it up. Cassidy and company come to regret the decision a year later when someone begins sending them videos of the night Megan died, and they fall victim to a deadly stalker.

Critics Consensus

Though it's slick and stylish, Sorority Row offers nothing new to the slasher genre and misses the mark both in its attempts at humor and thrills.

Typical slasher film packed with boobs, boys, booze and blood. Go into Sorority Row with your brain on cruise control and just enjoy the movie for what it is: a gore party.

It's yet another '80s slasher remake, so you know the drill...er, the tire iron pimped out with blades.

Call me the sarcastic sister, but the only thing screaming in any convincing way here are the cheap look, epileptic direction, and off-key, "edgy" humor.

There are a few jump-scares, carefully engineered by jolting music, a dark cellar, and sudden impalements, but the script’s inane plotting proves to be embarrassingly dim-witted.

It's taken me four years to appreciate how funny this film is. As a straightforward slasher, it disappoints, but the humour is undeniably killer. Pipes and Harshman are worthy of diva worship for their inspired performances.

One of the weaker entries in 2009's horror genre.

A great time! Have seen five times and still not old.

While it certainly doesn't carry through to the boneheaded twist and final act, Sorority Row has a surprising amount of wit to go along with the gleeful violence.

A slasher runaround that's pointless, ineffective, and irony-free, filled with unlikeable characters and uninspired death scenes. It's sad to see the great Carrie Fisher in the middle of this mess - her scenes as a sassy housemistress with a shotgun can do nothing to save it.

It's not fantastic but I found it fun and enjoyable regardless. 2.5 stars

All things considered, it could have been a lot worse.
