What to Know

Critics Consensus

M Night Shayamalan's The Sixth Sense is a twisty ghost story with all the style of a classical Hollywood picture, but all the chills of a modern horror flick.

At root, his films are patient vindications of crazy faiths, of ghosts and comic book heroes. Loneliness is his theme, and when blessed with courageous performers, as in The Sixth Sense, he can take us just about anywhere. Go to Full Review

You leave slightly asquirm. You know it will linger. It becomes a clammy, chilly movie building toward a revelation that you cannot predict. As I say: I cannot tell you. You'd hate me if I did. I can only say, don't look now, but look sometime. Go to Full Review

All these years later, The Sixth Sense still holds up as an all around great film. The film powerfully portrays the emotional journeys of three separate characters without short-changing any of their stories. Go to Full Review

Theodore S Apr 6, 2019 It is an amazing movie that leaves you with a twist of confusion
Draco S Mar 26, 2019 The first 10 minutes are slow, and some of the lines in the script were thin. The film as a whole though, was riveting and suspenseful. The acting was terrific, with everyone giving immensely strong depth to their characters. The atmosphere was intense and matched the tone and story beautifully. Believe it or not, the directing was sharp and well executed. Its a great film that you'll definitely want to watch more than once. Its just a shame that this director will never make a movie this good again. See more
Han W Mar 25, 2019 The Sixth Sense is a chilling horror film bolstered by some incredible performances and a story that constantly surprises and scares, culminating in its infamous twist ending that Shyamalan has never surpassed since. See more
Rey S Mar 25, 2019 I remember watching this movie when I was twelve years old, I never really got scared but every twist and turn the plot was making made me question reality, I love these kind of movies and honestly, I miss these kind of movies. See more
Rey G Mar 20, 2019 A chilling and methodical movie that slowly exploits the plot with an ending that is more dangerous than the ghosts.
Finn R Mar 14, 2019 A legendary masterpiece. Watch it now!
