Two overworked and underpaid assistants come up with a plan to get their bosses off their backs by setting them up with each other.

Critics Consensus

Set It Up follows the long-established outlines of the rom-com template -- and in the process, proves there's still substantial pleasure to be wrought from familiar formulas.

Director Claire Scanlon...gets everyone leaning into their roles, and Deutch is a particular delight.

Claire Scanlon's Manhattan meet-cute is a bouncy comedy with plenty to say about modern relationships.

It's wildly predictable and a little cheesy. And yet, it's an absolute gem of a movie.

Deutch and Powell are so good together that they should be making more movies together à la Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, or Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling — it’s what we deserve.

B-

Set It Up is filled with crazy challenges for the assistants to overcome to keep their bosses happy and together, all while navigating their own personal problems. It’s a fun movie that’s easy to watch, so I recommend anyone with Netflix give it a try.

Cinematic comfort food at it’s finest, both Deutch and Powell are charisma machines and a total joy to watch.

Sweet, funny, and predictable in the best way. Romcom fun!

This is by far the most cheesiest movie I have ever seen. I will never get back that hour and half of my life back. I would not suggest this movie to anyone.

Super clichï¿ 1/2 1/2 1/2 (C). Especially the main couple. Wish they could forcus/ made it more realistic with there bossï¿ 1/2 1/2 1/2(TM)s relationship and character. Understand they tried to be trendy and stylish but thatï¿ 1/2 1/2 1/2(TM)s just not enough anymore.

Cute idea, and good cast of characters but a bit over the top in terms of reality and also was mostly quite predictable. Enjoyable but missing some depth in characters and the storyline.

Classic Romantic-Comedy that gave life to two separate characters who share different, yet same worlds. I appreciated how the movie gave back to the assistants despite the climactic overhaul necessary for the plot to follow the Rom-Com formula.
