Dr. Lynn Denlon (Bahar Soomekh) becomes a pawn in the Jigsaw Killer's (Tobin Bell) latest gory game. Kidnapped and taken to an abandoned warehouse, she finds Jigsaw bedridden and dying. Her task is to keep the maniac alive long enough for Jeff (Angus Macfadyen), a fellow victim, to complete his own task. Each is unaware that Jigsaw has much bigger -- and deadlier -- plans in store.

Critics Consensus

Saw III does little beyond repeating its predecessor's tropes on a gorier level.

Jordan Crucchiola New York Magazine/Vulture Oct 27, 2017
The third movie doesn't go over the edge, but it does start to feel like John is setting his subjects up to fail, and the game shouldn't be rigged quite so hard if he really wants people to walk the path of redemption. Go to Full Review

Staying mostly faithful to the successful blueprint of its two earlier installments, Saw III is an adequate sequel that works well enough on its own terms. Go to Full Review

One of the most sadistic, brutal, grisly films of the current splatter-porn genre. Go to Full Review

Saw 3 had the right idea, but begins the era of too much lore, and chasing twist endings that will never be as impressive as what they pulled off in the first film. Go to Full Review

How can Jigsaw possibly think he or his undertaking has achieved anything with such a low success rate? He would do better by looking at the numbers, realizing he's doing more harm than good, and trying a new approach. I wish these films would do the same Go to Full Review

Saw III neatly concludes the original trilogy of films while providing an off-ramp for the ridiculous glut of sequels to follow. Go to Full Review

Harry S Apr 11, 2019 A nice change of scene and storytelling, focusing the structure down to a more personal level, if not slow at times. Not a brilliant film, but maybe on par with "Saw II". See more
Hermione W Mar 13, 2019 The third in the Saw franchise is overlong and over the top. The original Saw excelled at using gore sparingly to increase the shock factor, whereas Saw 3 uses it so much you become numb to it. The traps seem to also be poorly designed and Jeff takes absolutely forever to actually attempt them. See more
Harry P Feb 1, 2019 okay now you can start boring it this movie but at least you can see new traps...
Luke L Jan 25, 2019 I was so disgusted by this movie that I could not continue watching after the first 15 mintues.
Theodore S Nov 21, 2018 Saw three, manages to stay on top of the horror genre. For me it's just that good!
Albus W Jun 22, 2018 While a handful of traps are great, gory fun to watch, the rest of Saw III frustrated me with its stupid characters, slow pace, and disappointing conclusion. Jigsaw is still the best part of the series and his mere presence elevates this mediocre entry in a truly entertaining horror franchise. See more
