Siddhant Adlakha Observer Jun 25, 2019
The film demands sympathy for a symbol-not of hope or strife, but of privilege. It demands empathy for an empty vessel, embodying a rich, nepotistic, narcissistic status quo, without putting in the groundwork to craft character through visual expression. Go to Full Review

Mastering Sanjay's trademark stooped gait, adopting his distinct baritone, with prosthetic hooded eyes, Ranbir Kapoor's physical transformation is nothing short of astounding. Go to Full Review

A glorified infomercial about the life of a Bollywood bad boy. Go to Full Review

Sanju ends up feel like a version of Dutt's life for children; a sanitised fable of sorts. You are very often left wanting more. This gap is filled by Ranbir Kapoor — a fine performer who understands his subject matter and audience. Go to Full Review

It doesn't just heroise a flawed personality, but also ends up as the definitive and selective account for the future. Go to Full Review

Abraham R Apr 28, 2019 Awful from the screenplay to the acting. Ranbir's hair and makeup looked comical. It would've been fine for a sketch comedy show. The actresses...did Raju Hirani intentionally gather the worst actresses in bollywood for his film? Sonam Kapoor terrible as always. Her opening scene she has a face full of makeup being woken from sleep. And Anushka Sharma's english accent lol. And these are the "top" artists in the country. Couldn't even take diction classes? Skip it! I couldn't get past 20 minutes of this crap. See more
Mar 21, 2019 Nice and motivational
Harry S Mar 11, 2019 Phenomenal performance by Ranbir Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Manisha Koirala and Paresh Rawal. The most entertaining Raju Hirani movie to date. I had my doubts watching this as I wasn't sure how I'd feel seeing RK portray a very ALIVE actor but he excels so much that sometimes I thought I was watching Sanjay himself. Stellar comedy, reality and emotions are mixed together to bring about the usual Raju Hirani magic but even better. See more
Draco S Feb 25, 2019 An amazing cast (Ranbir Kapoor owns the film!) and great production values should have guaranteed a terrific biopic about Sanjay Dutt, "Bollywood's Bad Boy", a self-confessed drug addict and womanizer with gangster ties. But there is too much slapstick in the first half, and too much shallow self-justification in the second one. My favourite moment: Kapoor and the real Sanjay Dutt hamming it up in the music video accompanying the final titles. See more
Feb 22, 2019 Good As An Inspirational Film But Bad As An Biopic, Much Of It Seems Kinda Fake, (For ex. Sanju Wants Ruby's Father To Be Dead and Next Day He Dies , Jaaaduuu!) Kinda Overrated See more
Abraham P Feb 21, 2019 What a performance by Ranbir Kapoor, shows he is the best actor of his generation. Also great support by Vicky Kaushal and rest of the actors. One can say this movie white washes Sanjay Dutt but if you just watch it like a movie, you cannot help but be moved by it. See more
